Downward Mobility observes our unshakable desire to possess items of value in an increasingly disabling economic environment.

The images describe a growing apathy manifesting in our “this is us, lol” social media exchanges and memes shares, while the overtly contrived layouts intend to mimic the way we curate toward an online audience. 

Each work caricatures the artist’s peers — a cohort who are now set to be the first generation in a long time that will fail to out-perform their parents’ generation, materially.
